  • Alexis Mabille Couture 2013 Collection

By Raihana on January 25, 2013
Alexis Mabille was recently made an official member of the Haute Couture club. It’s a rarefied clique, with only 16 other houses on the list (congrats!). At his Paris show, we saw everything from pleated organza camisole strewn with lace, sleeveless button-downs, embroidered bibs, chantilly lace, ombré-dyed tiered and pleated floor-length skirts; all his creations struck a more formal but nonetheless [...]

By Raihana on January 24, 2013
Iris van Herpen put on a show that was electrifying in the literal sense. The Belgian designer made a visual impact with a collection, called Voltage. Renowned for her use of innovative techniques, Van Herpen produced what she referred to as “the first 3-D-printed flexible dresses.”  We think that this collection is just amazing and artistic. Enjoy! x

  • Trend Alert: The Fanny Packs

By Raihana on January 21, 2013
The last time fanny packs were something worthy of strapping on one’s waist, mom jeans were still deemed wearable. As such, designers’ decisions to bring forth a 2013 version of these hands-free bags lead us to question their style sensibility for spring. It really seems like the trend is making a comeback. • Givenchy Pre-Fall 2013 Collection

By Raihana on January 11, 2013
Riccardo Tisci proved, yet again, why he’s a consistent trendsetter with his directional and diverse Pre-Fall 2013 collection. This time around, the mirrored print-motifs channeled Islamic tile-mosaics; and symmetrical prints, cascade-ruffle details, heathered-grey woolens, and dramatic architectural volume to the hips of maxi-length, slashed skirts. Enjoy!
