At the height of her career in the 1960’s, Russian beauty Veruschka Von Lehndorff, was making as much as $10,000/day appearing on the covers of Life and all four major Vogue magazines (American, Italian, French and British).
Veruschka, reigned as the “It girl” with the most covers at her modeling agency and has been termed as one of the first supermodels.
Although Ms. Von Lehndorff’s modeling career appeared to be brief, after leaving the fashion world in 1975 due to disagreements with then Vogue’s Editor-in-Chief, Grace Mirabella, you can still see her gracing the catwalks from time to time. Enjoy!
