Huang Qingjum’s “Family Stuff” Photography

As we enter a new year, it’s a natural time to reflect on our blessings and remember to be grateful for what we have. Nothing puts this into perspective further than the photo series by Huang Qingjum. Qingjum traveled to remote areas, persuading families who often had never been photographed, to pose with their complete sum of possessions.

If you were to line up everything you own, would it fit into the frame of one photo? What would it say about the way you live? Contemplate this as you scroll – the results just may be quite humbling. Enjoy…x

Mandy Foster Falgout, I thought of you when I saw this. I think I’ll join you in simplifying; I’m starting to feel inundated with “stuff.”

I have respect for those people. I know EXACTLY what it’s like to have next to nothing. So many shallow and self centered people in the world could never understand a struggle. But these people can and I hope they are fortunate in their future to have more.

This help me to see that a simple life is not a bad life. They all probably have an abundance of love.
