Valentino is a name renowned for it’s long held understanding of the definition of elegance; and it’s masterful execution of countless opulent collections.
This haute couture presentation is no different in all but one regard. Now for the first time, designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli have veered from their well worn path and have explored a new and exciting challenge: what couture can mean for daywear.
Simplistic yet expertly tailored pieces were sent down the runway in an effort to re-establish what Valentino Garavani created for those elegant ladies of the past who spend their days out about town. Their mission is to make elegant daywear relevant to the modern day woman.
They did not however forget their roots, and among the daywear pieces were the presence of the familiar evening gowns upon which the house was built. Here are some of our favorites. What do you think? Enjoy!
