I attended the Lucky Fabb Conference in Santa Monica yesterday. Had such an amazing time. The panel was great and definitely a wealth of information. I have to say, though, Brandon Holley (EIC of Lucky mag) made the packed room feel relaxed and not too uptight.
Generally, when you think of an Editor-in-Chief of a major magazine, Anna Wintour comes to mind. I have never met her, but she seems a bit serious, no? Well, Brandon Holley had jokes for days. She had me literally “laughing out loud” each time she stepped on that stage.
Another favorite was John Jannuzzi, a contributing digital editor at Lucky. His blogger friendly jokes were spot on.
I’m happy I went. I think more of these conferences should be laid-back, social and interactive. Like..I’d even suggest that they ask us to take 5-10 minutes to introduce ourselves to other bloggers, as opposed to hanging out with or speaking to people you are already familiar with. Just a thought.
In any case, this was what I wore. We were right on the beach, so it was cold and windy.
