This is the outfit I wore to chill out on Sunday. I made these lace pants 12 years ago – from the very first collection I ever did. Can you believe that?
You all know I was just on vacay, right? (went home to spend time with my family). Well, I didn’t realize that my sister stored every single piece from my first collection. She had them neatly folded in a suitcase and showed them to me while I was there. Such an amazing feeling.
The lace fabric is from Nigeria. My dad actually purchased them for me when I went home to shop for fabrics to debut my first collection, which I showed at University of Maryland, College Park (where I graduated).
I have always been inspired by the 70s, but back then, I was also inspired by Lenny Kravitz. I adore his style – that bohemian rocker flare.
In any case, I can write for days, but I will spare you. I can’t wait to share more of the pieces I brought back. Glad they still fit.
