This collection made me cry. It’s so powerful, bold and non conforming. It reminded me so much of why I started WeWe Clothing, and how, unlike other designers or brands, produce just one collection a year.
It’s so important to always stay true to yourself when creating. You will find a niche and market.
Jan-Jan Van Essche, who’s work is inspired by pure ethnic shapes, is a young menswear designer. This is his second collection and it’s called ‘Satta Amassagana’, which means ‘give thanks’ in Amharic. pure ethnic shapes.
Essche was born and is based in Antwerp, Belgium, he graduated in 2003 from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Antwerp. Among his numerous awards won is the prestigious Dries Van Noten award. Enjoy.. xo
