Style Interview: Zoe of QQueen Of Hearts

Zoe! Not sure there’s much I can say that I haven’t already said to her. She is perfection. Her style is effortless and she truly has a kind heart.

Beautiful Badley of the qqueen of hearts blog has a delicate, romantic style which I absolutely adore. I love the way she plays with colors and her signature bows are like the icing on the cake. Read my interview below and get to know her. Enjoy.. xo

Name: Zoe Badley

Occupation: Journalism student at Sheridan College

Single or Married: Single but unavailable

Where are you from: I was born in Guyana, South American and grew up in Ontario, Canada.

What do you love most about Canada: I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I love winter in Canada. At least for the first two months, after that I’m ready for spring. A sheet of white snow always evokes childhood nostalgia and moving to Canada on Christmas day. I guess I’m just sentimental toward the season.

What inspires your style and how would you describe it: My style is usually inspired by fellow bloggers and it tends to be all over the place. One day I’ll roll out of bed and throw on whatever is on the floor, while another day I can spend up to an hour contemplating on what to wear. I like to experiment with styles, whether it’s being girly or looking like a filthy punk.

Vintage or latest trend: I absolutely adore vintage. There’s a certain admiration and awe that goes into finding a timeless piece that someone once wore and loved. Trends come and go but things that are decades old hold stories and memories.

Any Style Icons (dead or alive): My momma.

How do people respond to your style: I’m not exactly sure; I’ve stopped paying attention. It’s none of my business what other people think of me.

Favorite fashion quote: “Fashion is only the attempt to realize art in living forms and social intercourse.” – Francis Bacon

What are you into this season: Anything warm. When winter strikes I’m over the coveted boots that are unpractical and sheer fabrics that can’t hold a breeze out. Instead this season I’ve adopted flannel and knits as a staple to my everyday attire.

Favorite piece in your closet: Hands down my vintage black blazer, featuring padded and studded shoulders. There are no words to fully describe the badass appeal.

Favorite designers: Givenchy, Alexander McQueen, Victor & Rolf, Jean Paul Gaultier and Anna Sui.

Favorite stores or brands: Forever21, H&M and American Apparel

Random ..What’s in your purse: I’m currently carrying around my MacBook, ‘When You’re Engulfed by Flames’ by David Sedaris, my journal, wallet, makeup bag and iPhone.

What’s on your playlist: Top 10 songs currently on repeat: All of the Lights – Kanye West; Cruel Bloom – Converge; Get Lost – Everlea; Impossible – Everlea; Les Artistes – Santogold; Lori Meyers – NOFX; Portions for Foxes – Rilo Kiley; Undisclosed Desires – Muse; When You’re Ready For It – Tiger!; Wooden Heart – Listener

Fashion is: Expression

Favorite color/s: Bubblegum pink, but I’d never wear the color out.

Your dream job: I’m not sure if it counts as a dream job but I would love to be a novelist living in a modest cottage in the woods with a massive fireplace. However, since there’s no future in such a thing, I’m happy with just being a writer for whatever or whoever.

Do you have a hobby: Being lazy, it’s hard but I like to think that I’ve mastered it.

When and why did you start blogging: I started blogging in October 2009 because of school. Journalism requires you to cut a lot of your creativity in half, and being extremely frustrated by this fact I sought out another outlet. Blogging has honestly been one of the best things I’ve done for myself, there’s just no end to the success I’ve gained through it.

Who takes all of your pictures: The self-timer function
Tell us three random things about you (that we don’t know): I can eat a pound of bacon to myself, my feet were turned inward when I was born and I’m awkward as hell.

I know right? You two are so similar. If I’m not mistaken, you majored in journalism too, right? In any case, I love you both 🙂 I think you two should connect 🙂
