OMG, this will scare the crap out of me. I’m already frightened of an average bike as it is. The YikeBike from New Zealand is now available in the U.S. for $3,595. While it looks like it’s efficient; you don’t have to buy gas, worry about getting ticketed, parking issues, and you can simply fold this bike up and put it in the bag, I worry about safety issues. The YikeBike is a carbon-fiber electric bike, weights only 22 pounds (10.8 kg), is capable of going up to 6.2 miles on a single charge, and tops out around 14mph. You ride it by sitting on the combined saddle/handlebar, and when you reach the destination, you can fold the bike, and put the in a bag.
