Ports 1961 Spring 2011 MBFW

According to our correspondent, Remi Fagbohun (Versatile Shopper), the Ports 1961 Spring collection was filled with lovely colors. From the very first asymmetrical belted top – to the last dress. The colors where white, light and dark khaki/sand, purple, black, blue and green. Silky and flowy textures, the stand out pieces included the billowy jumpsuit which were anything BUT ordinary. You would almost mistake them for a dress to be honest. Personal favorites! We’d take them in every color! In addition, we loved the one sleeved dress with the embellishments on the chest, back and arm. Great collection. Enjoy..

The truth is that the show was beautiful, wearable, and modern, but gets docked points for a lack of innovation. A collection that references the 1970s but doesn’t look “retro” will sell well, and the two show-ending gowns are bound to end up on the red carpet.
