On the 6Th of November 2009, the thirt edition of the Mercedes-Benz Dutch Fashion Awards
will take place. After having held the first two editions in Amsterdam, Dutch Fashion
Foundation (DFF) has chosen to host the on coming edition in The Hague.

Dutch Fashion is getting more popular nationally and internationally and by a collaboration of Dutch Fashion Award and The Bijenkorf ( largest fashion warehouse of the Netherlands ) the nominees will have a great opportunity to bring their designs from the catwalk to the public.

Not only are the various stimulations for the hot new designers, the winner will win besides the DutchFashion Awards a price of €25.000 !

This year the nominees are Mada van Gaans,Bas Kosters,Sjaak Hullekes, Iris van herpen and Jeroen va Tuyl.Whoever  is most likely to succeed international will win the Dutch  Fashion Award.

Both jeroen van Tuyl and Mada van Gaans are nominated for the  time in a row.

Maybe this year one of them will finally breakthrough.

All the designers showed a very fabulous creative collection and each one has an unique style and creativity.They probably couldn’t be anymore different witch makes it so much more exciting !

Mada Van Gaans

Her collections are often inspired by a idyllic world and myths around female figures. Her inspiration leads to a futuristic collections that is very elegant , Chic and yet feminine.

Bas Kosters

Glitter , Glamour , Fantasy and a ot of fun is what Bas Koster is all about. With his new collection freedom he tried exactly to show that … freedom. The collection was about being alive and free. The runway was a party itself .

The sky is the limit for this young creative designer.!

Sjaak Hullekes

With a very charismatic collection for spring/summer 2010 Sjaak Hullekes showed us once again his signature.Fine detailing and high quality fabrics what leads to a very sophisticated collection. Stitching all the collars   by hand , he shows once again his passion for craftsmanship.

Iris van herpen

The theme of her collection was radiant/radiance.She was inspired by radiance because it is surround all around us . As she said herself it can be positive or negative. Negative because we don’t know the effects of radiance of computers and mobile phones on our health but positive because no matter how far you are away you can contact you friend who is living at the other side of the world  within seconds.The collection had a very luxurious look . In fact warehouse Harrods was so impressed they said to want to dedicate  a exposition to her.

Jeroen van Tuyl

This designer already made a household name in menswear design.

He is known for his use of modern structured silhouettes and his latest collection is inspired by the subtle Hindus reminiscence. that resulted in a collection of sorbet shades of pink,light grey and orange pink with a combination of shiny fabrics such as oiled black and shiny browns and grey for an urban look.
