Name: Nicc Crawford
Occupation: Fashion and Wardrobe Stylist

How did you start in the industry?
I participated in a college fashion show, and It was there, at that moment that I knew I wanted to make my mark in the fashion industry. Through networking, I met a wonderful Stylist and I assisted her until there was nothing more to learn. While shadowing her I connected with some heavy-hitters. I started to test with some of those individuals, my work stood out, and before I knew it I was my OWN boss!
Whom/what magazines have you worked for?
I have killed editorial spreads in J’adore Magazine (Sex & Rock n Roll issue), 944, Mami Magazine, and just recently had the opportunity to style my first cover with Rapper/Actor/Film Director Sticky Fingaz for KRAVE Magazine.
I have been blessed to work with some amazing and incredibly talented people like Denyce Lawton, Mekhi Phifer, Michael Rapaport, Fredro Starr, and Faran Tahir (from this years blockbuster Star Trek) just to name a few.
What is your take on fashion?
Fashion is a part of everyone. It’s everything, everyday! So, it’s important to do it (fashion) in a comfortable way. When you are wearing something that you feel good in, it shows. Especially when in front of the camera; Fashion should be fun and it should tell a story….about you, about your life, about how you feel.
What do you love about being a fashion stylist?
Freedom! Freedom to be creative, bold, and daring. When I am picking out clothes and putting looks together, I get to do whatever I want. I love doing what I do and no one can say “you’re doing that wrong.” Furthermore, I love when I wake up in the middle of the night with a vision. Then can’t sleep because I can’t wait to make that vision come to life.
What are your goals and plans moving forward?
I want to turn my vision of Wardrobe Styling into an enterprise. I want to become a household name. Create a manual filled with fashion advice to share with the world.
